Over the Rainbow (2001)

Children Multi-media Art Workshop, Exhibition and Musical Performance
Co-organized by Hong Kong Heritage Museum and Art for All

The target audience was the comparatively younger children of Southern Asia and (of) the new comers from Mainland China in Hong Kong, who attended schools which did not provide them with sufficient development in art due to lack of resources.

Over the Rainbow is an eight-month project that aims to establish admiration for their own cultures through (their) participation in several stage performances. Another goal in a wider sense of the program is to gain public recognition of the children’s needs and to broaden the appreciation for the minority cultures. Every single element of the drama performances – speech, costumes, backdrop painting was genuinely created by the children. During the art program, two schools with over five hundred students were involved.
