International Day of Dignity and Respect – Circle Art Festival

Art for us was invited to hold a Circle Art Festival in celebration of the International Day of Dignity and Respect. This year’s theme highlights people of different abilities creating art together and experiencing what it means that “We are the Same”. The team included Hazel, Jessica, Evelyna, Samson, Moon, Thomas, Fat Cow, Monti and Exist.
Part A – February 21-22, 2013 – Social Worker Training and Media Worker Experiential Workshop at Guangzhou
The 2 days provided the social workers in an in-depth of the core Circle Painting process and the extension into music. The workers were great, and the returned to their own centre to lead Circle Painting activities.
Part B – March 7-9, 2013 – Preparation and Event at Guangzhou 花城匯 Shopping Centre
On Mar 7-8, the artists led 50 participants to create painting, music and dance. They include autistic children to adults, their parents, and seniors who have recovered from leprosy. The beautiful work were performed and presented on March 9 with shoppers and guests from all over the city!
